Searcy Daily Citizen 1929

Newspapers seem to be passing away.  We can now go to the computer in order to read the newspaper.  Many people don't have computer knowledge or own a computer.  Prices for the newspaper has gone higher so lots of people have dropped their subscription.  I plan to continue reading a newspaper each day if I can afford to do so.  I love and respect newspapers and the folks who make it happen.  I treasure the clipped photos of family members that I saved through the years. 

Above is a 1929 photograph of a newspaper newsroom.  Looks kinda messy, doesn't it.  I am attaching a photo of the names of folks pictured.  It was attached to the picture.

Hello Barbara - I admit to sometimes missing the sight of newsprint on my fingers.  Maybe it's a sign of the times.   Thank you for sharing this post.

Only once a week, a small local newspaper, is delivered to my home.  Gone are the days, when The Sacramento Bee came to my childhood home in the evening.  And, the Sacramento Union would arrive at dawn.

Michael, I wish we had the old papers back.  But I am used to the computer reading now and don't miss having to walk to the curb to pick up the paper.

One of our newspapers has gone to online only, and the other is so thin and they won't deliver to my house, so I'm only doing online reading now. Too bad. I love holding a newspaper in my hands!

Kat, same here.  Our big one delivers only on Sunday and it is on the news stand that day only and costs $3 per copy.  The rest of the week is online and they gave us subscribers an ipad to watch it on.  The little one comes through the mail two days a week.
