On October 2, 2023, the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide construction spending higher 0.5% to $1,983.5 billion in August of 2023 from $1,973.7 billion July of 2023, and jumped 7.4% from $1,847.3 billion in August of 2022.
Nationwide private construction up 0.5% to $1,551.8 billion in August of 2023 from $1,544.6 billion in July of 2023.
Residential construction increased 0.6% of $879.9 billion in August of 2023 from $874.7 billion July of 2023.
Non residential construction gained 0.3% to $671.9 billion in August of 2023 from $669.9 billion in July of 2023.
The public construction rose 0.6% to $431.6 billion in August of 2023 from $429.1 billion in July of 2023.
The educational construction grew 0.2% to $90.6 billion in August of 2023 from $90.4 billion in July of 2023.
The highway construction up 0.4% to $130.4 billion in August of 2023 from $130.0 billion in July of 2023.
