The First 2023 Fall Leaf Made A Touchdown

Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

The first Fall Leaf for October 2023 made a touchdown in my backyard. The color of the leaf gave me a pumpkin kind of smile and my heart began to race while I thought about what the changing of the seasons meant. So, I stretched out on the St. Augustine Grass and my head was full of wonder.

Getting down to grass at leaf eye level, I saw blades of green and scorched brown too preparing for the dormant season of winter. It was a quiet, peaceful afternoon. I enjoyed every blade of grass I could see until I spied a butterfly on the Lantana. By the time I walked over to snap a picture the butterfly was gone. Just like that. Gone.

I headed back to the single Fall Leaf and this time I laid on the ground looking up at the tree. It's funny how at first glance the tree looks full of green leaves but like an eye doctor uses the Phoropter to determine the appropriate lens prescription, I began to see gold, red, orange, and brown leaves too. Autumn is a magical time of year!

Continuing on with my eyeball journey, I noticed the common Texas spiny lizard sunning on the fence. I hoped if I were quicker, I could take its picture. Too late! The lizard slithered away. Isn't it funny, people aren't the only ones who see garden visitors that fly and crawl? They notice humans doing strange things too!

In case you're wondering, I am not a native Texan but for the past 26 years I counted my wealth of the color of gold, orange, yellow, and green in spring, summer, autumn, and winter while pretty butterflies intrigue me and lizards too! And when I am out and about, and I see the brushstrokes of pink, orange, yellow, and gold painted sunsets my heart leaps for joy! If you're thinking about moving to Texas, let me be your guide. I've been selling residential real estate for more than 20 years.

Soon autumn's beauty will cover the grounds as trees shed their leaves. My perfect green lawn will sound crunchy with a mixture of Fall colors. Nature paints pretty pictures, don't you think? And I remain grateful for all that I see and all the people who bought houses because of me.

You saw the first leaf of Fall 2023! You just happened to be at the right place, at the right time, in the right frame of mind. I think that's a good cause for a celebration!

Kat Palmiotti - I stepped outside my back door and noticed this bright orange thing on the ground at the far end of my yard. At first I thought it was a ball or kids toy that landed in my yard. Lo and behold! It was a gift from nature! I was like a kid in my first candy store! I sat down on the ground and examined it carefully, tracing the veins in the leaf!

It doesn't take much to stimulate my imagination and bring me joy when I see something like this! My first leaf with a touchdown!

Lise Howe - I would expect that in D.C. but not here in Flower Mound, TX! I don't usually enjoy Autum leaves until November. I think it will be an early winter this year.

Enjoy all the colors of Fall where you have so much to love and appeciate.

Endre Barath, Jr. - and here in Texas, I am eagerly awaiting for fresh oranges from California! I love to start my day squeezing three fresh oranges. The fresher, the better! I love my Vitamin C and Folate! It is like liquid gold that boosts me up with energy!

A whimsical and poetic way to describe the arrival of autumn. It captures the essence of the season's vibrant colors and the idea of leaves gracefully falling to the ground. This imaginative phrase adds a playful and creative touch to the experience of nature's transition. Also check out my site

Living in the bayous of South Louisiana, there wasn't really a fall season of leaves changing colors.

Here in Missouri, I am totally fascinated every fall with the changing of seasons and the leaves losing their green to gold, red, orange, etc.

I planted Sunset Red Maple trees to get the ultimate experience of fall colors.

Vincent Perrone - As a Home Stager, you naturally have an artistic style of your own, especially when it comes to how you see the world. It is such an honor to have you here on ActiveRain to bring your observations and insights into creative writing.

Your positive critique of my solo leaf is appreciated. An introduction to the most colorful season of the year is so welcoming! Your words are magical! Trees and autumn leaves are a reminder that they are living, growing things. Another season, another time, they come back blooming! They are gifts from nature! The changing of the season can initiate imaginative thoughts by expressing a wide variety of thoughts to art, photography, poetry, painting, and creative writing!

Thank you, for the value you bring to ActiveRain. I for one notice how beautiful your creative spirit is illuminating further discussion.

faye schubert - That was a big move from South Louisiana to Missouri! Now you see clearly what a difference it makes to live in a state that teaches residents the unique colors, textures, and simple beauty nature brings to a special place, like where you live.

Planting Sunset Red Maple trees will no doubt brings out all the nuances of scarlet leaves to attractively brighten the landscape. Oh, how I wish I was that lucky! I do hope you showcase them here on ActiveRain!!!
