Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end for NAR. I've been a dues-paying member for over 20 years, they are essentially the Mafia for the real estate industry. It's going to be tough to eliminate them, but it can be done. Society can do better than 6000 separate MLS boards fragmenting the real estate community. Maybe Google, Amazon, Zillow, or Microsoft could set up a singular MLS for the entire nation. That sounds great to me!
In addition, NAR has over 1.5 million dues-paying members. For years members have been asking for a group health insurance option via our NAR membership. There is nothing still. They have reasons (excuses) but it's clearly not a priority for NAR. Meanwhile, we pay the equivalent of a mortgage payment for private health insurance. Ironically, NAR employees have great health insurance, and the entire budget is funded by dues-paying Realtors.
