How Interest Rates Impacting Recent Housing Prices by Hero Loan Team

Interest rates can have a significant impact on housing prices. Lower interest rates generally make it more affordable for people to borrow money, which can increase demand for housing and drive up prices. On the other hand, higher interest rates can reduce affordability and suppress demand, which can lead to lower housing prices.

Additionally, interest rates can affect the overall cost of borrowing, impacting homebuyers' purchasing power and influencing their decisions in the housing market. So it's crucial to stay informed about the factors influencing the market.

This week, Linda Peltz
realtor Clovis CA dive into a conversation with Michelle Johnson from the Hero Loan Team, exploring the intriguing relationship between interest rates and housing prices.

Join us for a casual and insightful discussion that unveils the nuances of the current real estate market in video below

Building Equity in a Seller's Market

Michelle Johnson begins by addressing a common misconception – the belief that rising interest rates would lead to a decline in housing prices. Drawing from her recent findings, Michelle Johnson walks us through a historical perspective, emphasizing the impact of supply and demand on the real estate market.

With a seller's market in full swing, Michelle Johnson emphasizes the urgency of entering the housing market if you can afford your current monthly payment. The key lies in building equity now, rather than waiting for ideal conditions that may not materialize.

Moreover, one vital aspect of Michelle's advice revolves around maintaining good credit. She cautions against neglecting credit health, emphasizing that it plays a crucial role when considering future moves, such as refinancing or upgrading to a larger home.

Michelle also points out the stability of mortgage payments, especially in contrast to rising rents. While rents escalate, a fixed mortgage rate California provides financial stability and the potential for future refinancing.

Good morning Linda. Must say as one who had a mortgage at close to 20% that interest rates have never directly resulted in me not buying. When the time comes and you need to buy, adapt and move forward. Thanks! Enjoy your day.

Thanks for sharing Linda.

High interest rates are already creating a havoc in the first time home buyer market making it more unaffordable mortgage payment for the same house they could afford a few months ago
