Had a chance to visit with a active Halloweener recently and asked a few questions about what he thinks of Halloween. I had to practice listening skills as this guy spoke without enunciating meaning forming his words but still, a decent fellow
MY NAME IS S.K. ELETON
Friendly fellow as we felt an instant comradery. The guy poured his heart out, I mean, he was transparent and easy to read. Compassion visited with me. He doesn't like how serious people get about a lot of things especially food, dieting & celebrating
HOW TO HANDLE BAD BREATH
Usually when I meet a person with bad breath, I distance myself. This guy talked in whispers making him lean-in all the time. I couldn't offer him a breath mint fearing it would hurt his feelings having no place to put it? I held my breath...ugh
YOU'RE KIDDING S.K.
One of his pet peeves was he never gets to dress-up for Halloween and how it hurts him. I showed consideration and understanding, but wondered, what part of you can hurt? I sympathized and he felt I heard him out. He let go & sat back.
I put my hat on and got up to leave and he grabs my arm wanting to tell me one last thing. We were friends after all. Be on the lookout for S.P. I asked who? Mr. Ider. He creeps around here & there. I thanked him but wondered.
Then, I saw it. This cute, little baby scurrying across the room and thought no big deal. However, little did I know, big was yet to come. Dad was making the rounds.
I tipped toed trying to get myself out of there as it looked like "dad" was napping. Started walking toward the exit when I heard something stirring. Caught a glimpse of "dad" on the move.
I am out of here. This is not my Halloween. I just want to pass out candy and hear kids say trick or treat. I made for the door! I found out if you run, IT runs too!
I jumped over a table and it followed closely. This must be S.P. that S.K was talking about. I made it to the exit and ran into an old friend, a quiet, unimposing fellow named D.U. ummy. You can't make this stuff up?
He wished me a Happy Halloween and, I must say, he had a calming effect on me.
Happy Halloween Rainers
