Stay up to date on state foreclosure laws

The Maryland State Bar Association has created a free pamphlet to educate homeowners on the new state foreclosure law that became effective April 4th. The brochure, Foreclosing Proceedings in Maryland, is now available online from the association's web site www.msba.org.

Early estimates forecast 25,000 foreclosures in the state before the end of this year, and one in every 200 Marylanders is currently involved in a foreclosure proceeding.

Association committee members hope the resource will better inform the public of its rights, the new protections offered under the 2008 law, such as new notice requirements and extended time periods for foreclosure sales, and an outline of foreclosure stages.

Unfortunate this is needed, but I hope those that do need it, find it helpful!

Laws on foreclosure is changing rapidly in the states hardest hit. I think that some of this is needed and some a over reaction to a market trend.
