Indian Lake Estates is roughly 10 square miles of planned development that stalled back in the 1950's and 1960's. They have been slowly building out the 8,000 half acre lots that were planned and plotted and sold to buyers all over the country.

Indian Lake Estates has a 18 hole golf course, a restaurant and bar called the 19th hole, tennis courts, and a playground. There is also the largest freshwater fishing pier in the State of Florida that gets you access to Lake Walk-In-Water, a 14 square mile lake that is known for its fishing. At the pier there is a covered picnic area with grills and a beach for relaxing by the lake.
I get asked why Indian Lake Estates wasn't fully built out already, and the answer is its location. It is 15+ minutes from Lake Wales on highway 60. There is not much out there. You either love living that lifestyle or you don't.
There are homes for sale starting in the $350,000 range, and the 1/2 acre lots starting at $9,000. The lots are generally undeveloped and will need to be cleared, a well and septic installed to build on them.
