Crosstimbers Park in North Richland Hills
Crosstimbers Park and forest at the end of summertime in North Richland Hills is a stunning place to go for a hike. The colors were just starting to get more of a golden hue to them, and that wasn't all dead leaves! We have had a hot and dry summer here in North Texas this year and it has definitely shown in our surrounding natural areas.
Crosstimbers Park is a 100 acre wood and bike paths, ball fields and playgrounds off of Bursey and Douglas in NRH, TX. This gem has been kept mostly as natural as possible throughout most of the park. It also showcases several biomes, as shown throughout the park on different plaques. The park is a great place to walk through the woods. You definitely don't feel like you're walking inside of a city.
The sights and smells of this forest are simply amazing. Getting out of your house and back into nature is truly something you need to do often, in my opinion.
