Are You Paid A Celery?

Some times it may seem as Realtors that what we get paid is about as valuable as a stick of celery. Especially when we have just completed a sale with a very difficult client... but then we are often relieved that that transaction is over. Often sales do look better in the rear view mirror.

Back to the subject of a salary and how it may be viewed by a new agent or potential agent. A Broker may talk about a draw and a new or potential agent may hear salary. I know that was NOT the case when I started out in Real Estate but I knew of many brokerages that offered a draw for new agents starting out. I think it's a mistake but that is only my personal view as I think it eliminates the urgency to get out of the gate as soon as possible. What do you think?

Thank you for sharing this blog by Bob "RealMan" Timm. I knew 25 years ago as I entered the profession that the days of a monthly salary were gone for good. It does make you work a little bit harder, knowing that we are commission based Dennis.  🙂

Dennis Neal draws need to be paid back, and it is an uphill battle to pay it back from day one.
