ON AMERICA RECYCLES DAY®...
MAKE SURE YOU RECYCLE IT RIGHT ON NOVEMBER 15TH & EVERY DAY!
According to ARD, in the past year, their affiliates and volunteers have helped recycle over 16.5 million pounds of recyclable materials. Here's how much of it breaks down:
- 2,335,135+ pounds of mixed paper
- 1,492,898+ pounds of electronics
- 535,918+ pounds of beverage containers
- 157,958+ pounds of clothing/textiles
- 1,899,869+ pounds of single-stream recycling
- 6,056,816+ pounds of other recycled materials
Did you know that it's costing Mecklenburg County more than $1.8 million annually to clean up non-recyclables? A lot of manhours are spent sorting out the un-recyclable material from the recyclable material. And it's the tax payers who are footing this bill. That's all of us who live in Charlotte, Pineville, Davidson, Matthews, Mint Hill, Cornelius, Huntersville in Mecklenburg County. Let's all get behind recycling right and save our tax payer dollars for really important things!
