Wordless Wednesday…That Look!

 

We had a small birthday celebration for my brother this weekend. His grandchildren and daughters took him to Escapology- A Live Escape Room. 

 

Since my brother is a big Star Trek fan, they picked that room to escape from. My nieces ordered Star Trek garb for them to wear.

I love this photo of Mini-me looking up at her grandfather (my brother).

 

She lovingly calls him “old man” (from Last Man Standing) Think she has him wrapped around her little finger?  He recently took her to the Galleria Mall in Houston for shopping and lunch!  This from a man who has gone to the grocery store only 5 times in his life!!!

Grandfathers have an important role in our lives. In addition to being there for often-needed babysitting duties, they have a wealth of skills, lessons, and stories to share. 

 

I remember walking with my grandfather around his yard and garden. Everyone who visited was given a “tour.”  I may not remember every plant he grew but I will never forget those walks. 




 A granddaughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart. Unknown

Good morning Kathy. As a grandfather who is manipulated by his grandson regularly, I have been told to toughen up for what I may be required to do by my granddaughter as she grows up. This is the life I have chosen. Enjoy your day.

I have fond memories of my grandfather on my mother's side. On my Dad's side, not so much. Both of my grandmothers were wonderful.

How sweet, Kathy! I never knew any of my grandfathers. My mother's father died when she was 13. My father was 50 years old when I was born so no grandfather there either. You were so fortunate to have had yours in your life as long as you did.

My dad's dad died when my dad was only six years old. My mom's dad died when I was a toddler. I didn't have a grandfather. I was blessed to have my two grandmothers well into my childrens' lives.
