Every buyer client is special to me - and I am grateful whenever someone asks me to help them find a home - but this client was extra special to me!
As a single mom, this client has been living in a rental apartment with her two children who are about to graduate from high school and head off to college. The rent i DC The coop next to her mother came on the market at 3001 Veazey Terrace. Her mother is reaching that "certain age" where the client wants to be close to her and keep an eye on her to be ready to help out as needed.
There were competing offers for the property, but my client wrote a letter to the seller, explaining that she had known and enjoyed talking with his deceased aunt who had lived in the unit for a number of years. (I know there is a lot of controversy about love letters to sellers and I don't like to share them when I am the listing agent.) This letter seemed to do the trick and the sellers picked our offer over the other options.
Van Ness North Cooperative is a large building set back a block from Connecticut Avenue, close to the Univerisity of DC and close to shopping, restaurants and a Giant grocery store. The metro is just across the street. It is a quiet part of North West Washington about a mile from the National Zoo and about a mile south of the DC Maryland border at Chevy Chase Circle. The building has a pool, front desk, gym, storage, lots of parking and a no pet policy.
My wonderful client just closed on her two bedroom two bath unit with a separate dining room and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Now she is looking forward to some renovations of her new home and then moving in, surrounded by her children and next door to her mother! What a wonderful happy ending!! This one qualifies as a reason to celebrate the Thanksgiving season!!
