Perspective, after a VERY busy day.... built a horse shelter in the morning, painted the inside of the garage on the home we are building, then off to a showing, and finishing with a listing appointment.... my husband had an equally packed day. Hubby is usually our very creative cook, and he truly cares about WHAT we eat, but tonight he offers, can we drive to town (25minutes) and have corn dogs and a root bear float for supper. I have NO idea why this sounded like a good idea and I'm equally shocked that it ended up being the VERY BEST idea.
We enjoyed conversation as I drove us to supper (he loaned his truck to a neighbor who doesn't have an operational vehicle so they borrow my husbands truck to go to town once a week to do shopping, laundry, etc.) we enjoyed sitting in the gas station A&W root bear to eat our corn dogs and continue to enjoy each others company. We could have done this over a fancy meal, spent an hour and had amazing food.... but all we really wanted to do was eat a quick easy meal and get home to relax.
Sometimes it is the very smallest simple pleasures that really mean the world.
When we got home it gave me time to walk the dogs over to the new house and let them hang around in it for 30minutes, looking out the windows running around like maniac's, acclimating them for the transition. I want them to be as excited about the new house as I am. Then back to the temporary home, the little tiny temporary home to relax and get ready for tomorrow.
Embrace the little tiny things, because at the end of your days - the little things will look like the BIG THINGS!!!!! Savor your corn dogs!!!!
