How Long is that Turkey Going To Last?

Carol purchased the smallest whole turkey she could find so I'm pretty sure we won't be eating it all the way to Easter unless she freezes some of it for later consumption.

The picture above is not ours. I found it on the web and it is NOT copyrighted.

At lunch today we did enjoy cold turkey sandwiches and I am looking forward to a hardy soup made with the remainder of the bird, after that I hope NOT to see turkey for a year.

Hi Bob,
I think my cooking turkey days are over since I live alone now and go elsewhere for holidays. I do love turkey and all the leftovers. I buy myself a roast chicken once in a while and that's kind of the same.  That meal looks amazing!

Good morning Wayne Martin and yes we think alike often. I do enjoy more than one turkey meal but there have been times it was a bit to redundant.

Hi Bill Salvatore - East Valley . With just three of us at home these days Carol has to be careful to find a small bird or just purchase a breast.

Nina Hollander, Broker if you count my occasional turkey TV diners then I can say that I have it several times a year. 😊

My husband cooks a turkey breast. This year it was 4# and very little was left. Thank heavens.

I hear you Leanne Smith . I thought we were done yesterday but Carol informed me today that we have two more meals coming. One is turkey gravy over biscuits and a macaroni casserole.

Hi Bob- I did a 20 pound turkey and my niece's husband smoked 2 10 pound turkeys. We do have some of the roasted turkey left.

WOW 40 pounds of turkey Kathy Streib is a whole lot of turkey. It sounds like you had a lot of friends and family to enjoy around your table. I'm envious.

Hmm, I guess if someone really loved turkey, the leftovers certainly could provide for the next few months, haha.

Hello Bob and just back from the mountain cabin last night and now back in the Rain.  I wish we had left overs but 3 turkeys and all gone by Friday night.  I may go buy a turkey just to make some turkey soup this week.

That sounds like our scenario as well Endre Barath, Jr. . One more meal and I just might refuse it and have a PB&J.

Hey Will Hamm we are just getting a dusting of that snow you had mentioned earlier but not even enough to shovel. How was the trip back home?

The turkey that we had was DELICIOUS!!!

Prepared by my daughter and cooked by my son-in-law, both with the assistance of my other daughter and my wife, it was wonderful. And that is not even allowing for the wonderful accompanying dishes.

And...pumpkin pie for dessert, too.

Our turkey was good and moist as well John Juarez . I am sure Carol would have loved to have had her sister here to help out. I think everything is better when you get a little help from those you love.
