What You Don’t See Could Be Your Biggest Threat

Mold is a common component of indoor air throughout the state of Florida. With its high level of moisture and humidity, the Florida climate is the perfect environment for mold and other harmful contaminants to flourish, creating inhospitable and unhealthy conditions in homes and businesses throughout the state.

The mold you see can be professionally removed and the area restored to its original condition. Visible mold is a problem that should be quickly addressed and remedied.

It’s the mold you don’t see that becomes a serious health risk.

In some cases, the smell of mold alerts residents and building owners. However, in many instances, such as with black mold, mold goes completely undetected. When black mold remains undiscovered, it can result in serious health issues.

  •       Prolonged exposure is linked to asthma, as well as life-threatening infections that compromise the immune system and respiratory health.
  •       Toxic Mold Exposure is tied to long-term conditions including memory loss, confusion, depression, and anxiety.

Obviously, the mold you can’t see represents the biggest threat.

Don’t Ignore the Signs of Mold Exposure

Ask the professionals at Indoor Microbial Specialist to investigate and test for mold in your business or residence when any of the following symptoms of mold exposure occur:

  •       Nasal and Sinus Congestion
  •       Runny Nose
  •       Respiratory Problems (wheezing, difficulty breathing, and tightness of chest)
  • Skin Rashes /Irritation

  •       Sneezing
  •       Itchy /Watery Eyes
  •       Sore Throats
  •       Consistent Coughing

  •        Memory Loss
  •        Depression
  •        Confusion
  •        Anxiety

Great info John, I wonder if you have no odor to chase but symptoms are being experienced, where in a house do you start with the testing? Given each test area costs a pretty penny, where's the most common areas (no basements here FYI)?

In order to be able to ascertain if there an issue with mold contamination and mold sporulation you shall test all rooms that are under the HVAC system. Normally were the highest concentration of airborne spores are is were the colonie is. The use of infrared camera, moisture meter and moisture detector shall be use to identify red flags. The reason to test all rooms is to be able to determine if all or a few will be included in the remediation protocol in the case that remediation is granted.

This passage underscores the importance of recognizing and addressing the potential dangers associated with mold, particularly when it goes unnoticed. It begins by highlighting the challenge of detecting mold, especially the elusive black mold, which may not always produce a discernible odor. The text then emphasizes the severe health risks posed by prolonged exposure to mold, ranging from respiratory issues and compromised immune systems to long-term conditions such as memory loss, confusion, depression, and anxiety.
