Hi Dorie,
I remember when the 55 mph speed limit was imposed due to the oil embargo.

I found the 55mph interesting.  Must have resulted from a prior supposed fuel crisis?  And the fuel savings moving the limit much lower.  Interesting as we look back.  m

Hi Dorie... I remember that first day of the draft lottery as if it happened yesterday! So many young men holding their breath to see if their number came up.

Nina Hollander, Broker Larry remembers it because it was held on his birthday.

Dorie the draft started the 6 months before I graduated high school and I did not have a very favorable draft number.  I ended up enlisting, but if I had not I most likely would have been drafted.

Dorie- I will never forget the first draft lottery. I was in college and running a German lab at night. One of the other students was ready to graduate and worried about his birthday being called up. Larry was also in college and hoped he would be able to finish college as well (He did!)

It was a different time wasn't it Kathy Streib. What was on our minds was far different than what is on the minds of students in college now!
