Looking for Something to do in Pikesville?

Are you over 60 and looking for things to do? Do you want to take a fitness class? Do you want to join a book club? Learn to quilt? Join activities with other active people to socialize, learn a new skill, or improve your overall knowledge in any area.  The results of recent studies published in the recent issue of the AARP magazine state that adults who stay active and keep learning live longer and more productive lives.  What a great way to stay involved and up-to-date.

I'll be teaching beginner and continuing quilting on Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 am.  Come join in the fun.

The sign-up is now available for new classes starting in January.

The Pikesville Senior Center is located on the second floor of the Baltimore Public Library in Pikesville located at 1301 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD.  There is plenty of parking in the back.

Quilting is a big deal for a lot of people and a well-made piece of quilt can get big dollars.

Hello June and good for you teaching how to quilt.  Both my grandmothers use to go once a week to quilt with others in our church.  I only have one of them, wish I had more from them.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 I do commissions from time to time, some of my non-quilter friends are surprised by how much I charge for making a t-shirt quilt.

Will Hamm my guild meets once a month at a local church. Growing up Mrs Barton who lived next to my Grandmother always had a quilt frame in her front parlor, my Grandmother was blind and knit socks, it never stopped her from going and sitting in. My Aunt (Mrs Barton's daughter) also gathered there to quilt. That is how I learned.
