Ever wanted to be the trend-setter for a term? Not necessarily the creator of the thing itself but the term associated with it?

Introducing Mike Kotler - Neologist of the term "NEHO" an abbreviation of Northeast Hoboken

Just like Seattle has SODO, New York has SOHO, LA has EaHO, Hoboken now has NEHO

But why, and what is it?

NEHO, short for Northeast Hoboken, designates a distinctive neighborhood within the northeastern part of Hoboken. Originating from the innovative thinking of Hoboken Realtor Michael Kotler, NEHO serves as a convenient label for a collection of condominium buildings that garner strong interest from potential residents. The neighborhood's conventional boundaries encompass the Weehawken Cove, forming part of the picturesque Hudson River, to the north, while to the east, it is demarcated by Shipyard Lane. To the west, NEHO extends to Garden Street, and to the south, it typically reaches as far as 14th Street. However, it's worth noting that between Hudson Street and 10th Street, the boundaries encompass 2 Constitution Court and Maxwell Place.

It's popular due to the number of high-priced and luxury condos and iconic buildings such as the Hudson Tea Building.   The Hudson Tea Building stands as an iconic architectural gem in Hoboken, New Jersey. Originally constructed in the early 20th century as a tea and coffee processing plant, it has since undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving into a symbol of modern urban living.

Today, the Hudson Tea Building represents luxurious waterfront condominium living at its finest. Its historic charm and industrial aesthetic have been seamlessly preserved, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and oversized windows, all paying homage to its industrial past. The building's iconic stature lies not only in its rich history but also in its prime location along the Hudson River, offering breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. It stands as a testament to the seamless blend of old-world character and contemporary elegance, providing residents with a unique and sought-after living experience along the Hoboken waterfront.

Other buildings include the Harborside Lofts, Maxwell Place, 1400 and 1425 Hudson, Constitution Place and several others.

NEHO borders the Hudson River making for outstanding views of the New York City Skyline and Manhattan.  This means residents have access to all the great transportation to NYC, the tunnel, PATH and more. There are dozens of great restaurants, parks and more and one of the best things being so close to NYC, is the price. NEHO is seeing a much more affordable real estate market than Manhattan.

The name is only as good as the number of people that choose to use it. Only time will tell.

I have heard of Hoboken before, but certainly not NEHO as it is referred to, haha.  It seems like it would be a great place to call home though!
