When you have a soft spot for old homes, it is such a treat to visit historic Frederick and drive through the tree-lined streets of Baker Park and Hood College. Most of the homes were built from the 1910s to the 1940s with architecture ranging from arts & crafts bungalows to Victorians to (Dutch) colonials. It shows that residents take pride in their homes and neighborhoods. Historic character has been preserved and curb appeal is abundant. It's no exaggeration when I claim that one house is prettier than the next.
The two subdivisions, Baker Park and Hood College, are in between/surrounding their namesakes, the 58-acre Baker Park with its jogging and biking trails, playgrounds, ball and tennis courts, carillon, and picturesque Culler Lake, and the private Hood College, established in 1893 as the Women's College of Frederick. Downtown Frederick with its rich history, charming boutiques, art galleries, and fabulous restaurants is just minutes away.
If you would like to call Baker Park or Hood College home, then expect to pay between 700K to well above 1 Million. There are a few duplexes as well, the last one on the market was listed for 589K. Interested in current listings, or your home's value? Please reach out: (240) 593-2860.
Historic Baker Park and Hood College, old-world charm in Frederick, MD.

♥ It's always been the vintage, the old house charm, and the original details that I adore the most, that draw me in, make my [REALTOR®] heart flutter, and prompt me to pause, to listen, and then to retell their stories. I specialize in finding and marketing charming homes that are unique and rich in character, history, or both. I believe in preservation, second chances, saving the pink bathrooms, and front porch living. In this series, I highlight charming homes that I am listing to find just the right buyer for or that I am admiring with my special clients; or that have simply caught my eye while exploring the [historic] communities of Maryland and [far] beyond. Adore charming homes as much as I do? Then I'd love it if you'd follow me on Instagram, @onceuponahaus is where I grow my curated collection. ♥
