Our mindset which is essentially our attitudes that are habits of thought (Zig Ziglar) direct our behaviors, our actions. No one can see our mindset but they can see our behaviors, our actions.
With all the uncertainty in the real estate industry along with the local to national economies, viruses, weather, personal safety, one’s mindset is increasingly important. That mindset can be one of abundance or scarcity. We can begin each day with positive, emotionally energizing thoughts or with negative, emotionally draining thoughts.
Is the glass half full or is the glass half empty?
As we interact with others we can share our mindset and in turn share our energy. One of my mindset habits is to say good morning, good afternoon or during a holiday time, Merry Christmas or Happy New Year.
These comments are said with a big smile. The reaction usually is a return smile and I sense some additional energy. If someone grunts back, well that is that person’s issue because my goal is to focus on what I can control, my mindset, my emotions and my behaviors. (Thinking, Feeling and Doing)
Years ago, I often heard others state “Have a great day.” I changed that greeting to “Make it a great day.” Later after hearing others say “Make it a great day,” I now say “Make it an exceptional day.”
