One of the Best Ideas I have Used in My 43 years as a Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart

A strong communication value, with everyone, not only leads, but clients, past client's, and other agents as well.

One powerful way to accomplish this is this recording on your cell phone:

"Wait don't hang up, when you leave your name and number, I WILL return your call normally within 3 to 59 minutes"

About 50% of the time people leave their name and number and say: "I am timing you to see if you call back in 3 to 59 minutes." I don't believe they hear the normally.

This causes you to DO IT, and if you don't make it within an hour, you did say: normally.

As I recall NAR #1 complaint years ago used to be: Lack of Communications. Here is your opportunity to not be in that category.

I hope your day is as great as mine.

Interesting idea. That is always my concern when I leave a message... when will I get a call back.

Great idea! I get lots of spam calls. Just like many of us do. If someone wants to talk to me, they will leave a message. If the caller is spam, they will most likely not leave a message...which is o.k. with me.

You are right, that is a greeting that catches one's attention. You are prompting me to rethink mine, but I am not sure if I can promise to get back w/in a very specific timeframe. I'm glad, Carol included your post in her Second Chance round-up.

Dan The Pumpkin Man,

Your approach to enhancing communication is innovative and effective. Setting a clear expectation with your voicemail message not only engages the caller but also establishes a commitment to prompt responses. It's a smart strategy that turns a simple call back into a demonstration of reliability and attentiveness. While some callers might take the timing as a challenge, it's an excellent way to hold yourself accountable and stand out in an industry where communication is key. This kind of proactive approach can significantly improve client relations and build trust. Keep up the great work, and it's wonderful to hear that you're having a fantastic day!
