Amazing Melbourne, FL Numbers for Inbound vs. Outbound U-Haul's

By

One way to help determine what is really happening in the real estate market is to find out how many people are making moves in and out of an area.

Every year U-Haul puts out their inbound vs outbound numbers. For 2023 the number one area in the country for inbound movers is Melbourne, FL (Melbourne-PalmBay area).

Here's a look at the top 10 growth markets in 2023, according to U-Haul:

1. Melbourne-Palm Bay FL

2. Ocala, FL

3. Charleston-North Charleston, SC

4. Sarasota-Bradenton, FL

5. Austin, TX

6. College Station-Bryan, TX

7. Charlotte, NC

8. Huntsville, AL

9. Dallas, TX

10. Myrtle Beach-North Myrtle Beach, SC

Interesting that Melbourne would be a prime inbound location.  Our state has had the distinction of being in the top 10 for people leaving the state.

I love Connecticut. It is a beautiful state....BUT the taxes can kill you.

Hello Jeffrey---it's interesting to see different trends as they relate to real estate as well as everyday life.  Through such observation we can gain insight and additional knowledge.

Totally agree Michael Jacobs This is an interesting point. The funny thing about inbound or outbound, it says nothing about quality of live (although I assume people are not rushing here because it is awful).

Good evening Jeff,

I saw these numbers and I don't think they are a surprise to anyone! More affordable area, good climates and less state control. People don't want their hard earned money to go to high taxes and give away programs!

Hi Jeffrey- the numbers are interesting! TX and FL are understandable destinations...good weather, no state taxes, minimal state interference and who doesn't like gators and cowboys!!

That is interesting, I am surprised that no cities in Arizona made the Top 10 list, haha.

It's always interesting to see these statistics each year from UHaul.

An interesting list. I wonder what percentage of families on the move use U-Haul.

I have a second home here in Homosassa Springs and Ocala has been booming from what I've heard--only an hour away. I don't know Melbourne....hmmmm, will have to google it!
