Blizzard is Gone & Sunshine Came Softly A-through my A-window Today!

Well...it was a short lived  1.5 day Snow 6312 P Ave Pl Kearney NE after 8 inch Blizzard Mike McCann Mach1 Realtystorm and that is good!

And the Sun is Shining Bright through my window today!

Interstate 80 was closed for most of Monday and part of Tuesday due to blowing snow and zero visibility with 50mph winds.

Hiway 30 was closed for part of the day and when it opened...the westbound I-80 traffic that jumped over to Hiway 30 made itHighway 30 east of Kearney NE 1-9-23 Mike McCann Mach1 Realty bumper to bumper at about 20 mph! (The highways are about 3 miles apart and run side by side for about 150 miles)  With the north wind blowing the snow over the east/west roads...it was brutal for many drivers.

It is hard to tell in the photo but there were hundreds of semi's and other vehicles westbound at >20mph and those road ditches are almost 4 feet deep.

We only had around 8 inches of snow in our community and for my house...most of it blew away and it was fairly easy to dig out since I started yesterday.

My neighbor, Chris, had knee replacement about 6 weeks ago (remember my A.I. blog when I said I had a friend with a new robot installed knee? Yep, this is her.) She fell during rehab and broke her wrist...so I have been cleaning her drive for her.  Evidently her 3 kids are too busy to come and help...

Chris' snow was almost 2 feet deep and it 6312 P AVe Pl Kearney. Our driveway looking over to Chris's drive. Mike McCann Mach1 Realtytook me almost 2 hours to snow blow her drive.  Not sure why it all hung up in her drive but it gave my new snow blower a heckuva workout.  Where her red Toyota is sitting...earlier today there was over 2 feet of snow.

All is good Now...and with the great sunshine...and getting done before lunch...the drives are going to be mostly dry which is very good since we are supposed to get 2 inches on Thursday followed by 4 or 5 days of below Zero temps.

Heck, I was even negotiating a potential contract while snowblowing today!

I am looking forward to about 69 days from now when the first day of spring gets here!!  I used to love the cold and now just tolerate it.

But we made it through another storm with

6312 P Ave Pl Kearney NE Mike McCann Mach1 Realty

little damage to the community infrastructure and that is alright by me!

Until Next Time...Keep Your Snow Shovel Ready if You Are in Snow Country...Looks like a wet Winter is upon us! And the fields need the moisture!

Good evening Mike,

I love your photos and good to see the sun came out and helped melt that snow. More will come but at least it's not piling up! You made it through another storm!

Oh my gosh, Mike!!! That's a lot of snow. I suppose I shouldn't complain about the below 40 temps this morning and strong winds we had. I remember when we moved to Leesburg, VA and the first snow we had. We were both excited to try out the snow blower and I was looking forward to shoveling snow. We bundled up and about 15 minutes later we were both removing scarves and all of the heavy gear we had on because we were so hot!! LOL

Stay safe.

How nice that you were able to help your neighbor with her driveway. Wonder where the offspring are!

And I'm glad you made it through the storm unscathed!

That definitely looks too cold for my blood, haha.  I am glad that we don't have blizzards in my area.  Hopefully, more sunshine will be headed your way!

Hi All!  Thank you for stopping by! Looks like the snow boss is going to give us another storm tomorrow...just not as much wind.  If you are planning on driving I-80 through Nebraska...might want to do it today!!

Yesterdays sunshine really helped in getting roads cleared and opened. Such is life in Nebraska in the winter!

We had a blow last Thursday and it left 8" in our yard. The rain that came through last night melted it all and today we have robins on the lawn hunting the worms.

Those are lovely photos. It’s nice when neighbors help each other out in severe weather conditions. My neighbors are great and are always there to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
