SNOW SNOW GO AWAY COME AGAIN SOME OTHER DAY

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Mike McCann - Broker, Mach1 Realty Farm & Commercial Land Broker-Auctioneer Serving Nebraska

I am just going to say it: UGH!  I am sick of the snow and cold. We are closing in on 2 feet of snow over the past 4 days and we are not used to that.

I have spent over 6 hours scooping and snow blowing snow this week and I have come to realize that it is no longer fun...nor easy...NOR done!Snowy Kearney Nebraska 1-12-24 Mike McCann Mach1 Realty

And to top it off the high today is a balmy 4 degrees above zero!!

Our 2nd blizzard this week and I must say Kudos to all of you who live in this stuff for 4 or 5 months a year!

Maybe it is because last winter was fairly mild...or because I gave my yard mower/rider with snow blade to my daughter and bought a snow blower last year that did not get used much...or maybe we really are having more snow and wind...or maybe I am just getting too old for this!

Yeah...that big 4 feet high pile in the background of the photo is mostly from the city boys who dropped it AFTER I had everything cleaned out on Tuesday. Took me an hour to move what they left smach dab in the middle of the neighbors driveway.

The big blue container is our recycling that was picked up a few hours ago...and I am leaving it out there so the city boys will have to turn sooner and leave their street snow actually in the street this time.

Usually our snows melt off the streets and intersections after a day or two. However, they are predicting high temps in the single digits for the next week so a lot melting is not going to occur this weekend or next week.

I know, I know,  you think I am complaining but really we are so fortunate since we did not lose power or any utilities and we live in a safe area.  So although I still wholeheartedly endorse my early UGH, I love the area we live in.  And I know spring is on its way!!

Until Next Time...Stay Warm...Stay Safe...Slow down early on the icy roads...and take a deep breath of cold, fresh air!!  AHHHHHH!!!!

Hello Mike - I can appreciate the fitness regimen but the thought, thanks but no thanks, seems to be clouding my thought process.  Whether weather related or not, I am happy to be in California although I have some native-born relatives in your state who have lived there for decades.

Michael J. Perry   If you are on the road...safe travels.  Your Nebraska relatives can tell you we still a lot of roads impassable due to ice, snow, and accidents.

Michael Jacobs  I could not live in California unless in the more sparsely populated areas.  Had a Brother & his family who lived for decades in Modesto but moved to Oklahoma this past year.

Mike - California is a big state with lots of space.  Some even with snow.  ⛄

I don't know how you do it, I have become so accustomed to warm weather that I don't think I could survive where you live, haha.

For the most part, I don't mind the winter weather where we are, but the last few days have been very cold (it's -30º this morning) and we can't do anything outside. So I agree with your ugh!

It's very cold and snowy where I live but I am thankful to be in Arizona until mid-March. Stay warm and safe!

Thank you all for stopping by!  Last night was only about -10 degrees and right now it is a balmy -2.  And guess what? Snowing again.  Third snow in a week which is a bit unusual for us.  Many, Many highways and most east/west gravel roads are still closed in east and east central Nebraska from roughly Hiway 81 all the way into Iowa.  The wind has been relentless.  It has been years since we have had this much snow and continuous wind.  Interstate was open through the state.   Be safe out there!
