Elevating Your Real Estate Game - Mastering Social Media Challenges

I came across some insightful tips in a CRS magazine article about overcoming social media challenges in real estate. I realized that it's a common struggle, even for the top professionals. We're traditionally more accustomed to personal phone calls with our clients rather than constantly managing numerous social media sites, a shift that our industry has morphed into!

SO, if you’re ready to take your real estate social media to new heights, here are a couple of tips to do just that…

Facing the Challenge: Keeping up with the demand for new and engaging content can be a daunting task in the fast-paced world of real estate social media. We've all been there, and it's a common hurdle in the digital age.

The Winning Solution: Time to dazzle with professional-grade photography and videography! Showcase your properties in the most captivating way possible. This isn't just about taking pictures; it's about storytelling through visuals. Capture the essence of your properties in a way that stirs emotions and invites engagement. Further enhance your strategy by creating a content calendar. This approach not only helps in organizing your posts but ensures consistency in your online presence, keeping your audience eagerly anticipating your next update.

Another Challenge:
Selecting the ideal social media platforms tailored to your real estate business can feel like solving a difficult puzzle or navigating a complex labyrinth. Again, we’ve ALL been there!

Savvy Solution: Engage in some strategic research to pinpoint where your potential buyers and sellers are most active online. By focusing your marketing efforts on these platforms, you can significantly increase your engagement and visibility in the digital real estate marketplace.

But don't stop there. Dive into the demographics of these platforms – who are the users, what content resonates with them, and at what times are they most active? Tailor your content to fit these insights. Experiment with different types of posts – from property showcases, market insights, to personal stories and testimonials. See what resonates best with your audience and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Bonus Tips: Don't forget the power of engagement (which I’m terrible at because I’m spread all over. Do as I say, not as I do in this instance! I need to focus on my platforms that are tailor fit to my business.) Respond to comments, participate in conversations and create community-driven content like polls or Q&A sessions. Utilize storytelling to connect on a more personal level, sharing successes, challenges, and the human side of the real estate business.

Lastly, consider the growing trends in social media. Explore the use of short-form videos, live tours, or interactive features like augmented reality in property previews. Stay updated with new features on each platform and leverage them to enhance your online presence.

Stay positive, proactive and embrace these strategies and watch as your online real estate presence not only grows but, thrives, setting you apart in the digital marketplace.

Hi Debe,
First, let me say I love that visual. There are so many demands on you and so much information flying around that it makes doing business manic these days. Storytelling. Yes! All great advice in your post!

I am happy to be retired and going at my own speed. 😊

Debe- I too love the visual. When the many platforms began to pop up I signed up for all of them. But realized that you had to pick and choose and yes, interact!!! I admire those who take the time to respond to comments on their social media platforms.

Good points!   First off love being on AR.  It's the best place for positive people that are supportive.  As far as commenting other places I have to remind myself all the time do not argue with people on whatever platform.  I delete lots of comments other places before post. Other times if I have an unpopular opinion I mention I'm not trying to start a fight, this is just my 2 cents.  Then on Youtube I never comment unless someone asks about availability of listings.  I have a very let's say entertaining following on youtube and I don't engage them.   I'm glad I'm back on AR.  Posts like this fill my bucket.

Retired from real estate; active in life!

These are good tips for social media. In general, I have to admit to being a little tired of social media. I much prefer the in-person socialization!

Debe I thought back to the days when we were managing a lot of SM stuff and it was bonkers to me at times (even when I wasn't doing most of it).  I find that I was way more effective in my 'old fashioned way" of staying in close touch with my SOI and Networks of people.  And quite frankly a hell of a lot more fun!  To this day we still get together with folks I've known most of my career.   A blessing!  I'm glad I'm on the retiring end honestly!

Good morning Debe. While it may seem over whelming, if you are not seeking buyers and sellers, they cannot seek you! Enjoy your day.

Hi Debe:

There is a lot of helpful advice here. Social media has to be managed by us, and not manage us (and it's easy to spend non-productive time there with activities that are more time wasters than helpful. The visual, as others have commented, is wonderful and conveys a lot about the social media world. It's enough to make your head spin!
