atrium snow inside house rare Searcy AR

Nice room, isn't it!

Well, it does look a little like snow on the chair and the floor.  No, it is not fake snow for atmosphere......it is REAL SNOW!  With the temperature in Searcy AR being about 13 degrees over the past hours and expected to be that for several days, one wonders who committed this crime!!  SNOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS HOUSE!  There is no roof over this area!

I have had a long real estate career (over 40 years) and this is the only atrium that I have seen in Searcy AR. The owner loves the house and the atrium!  The house was built in 1968!

I guess I am glad I don't own it right now!!  Do Searcy Sleuths know of another one??

I'm going to quibble with terms. That is a courtyard not an atrium. A atrium is covered with a roof and a courtyard is uncovered. Another older term is breezeway.

Harold Gene Sullivan's home at 1212 E. Race had a breezeway which was a screened in covered area between the house and garage.

Hello Barbara - atriums can be seen in many California homes.  The definition can certainly vary although I don't recall ever seeing one with an appearance of snow.  ☃

Don, I lived in California for a few years and I believe that is where they were popular.  Right now in Arkansas it is below freezing!  But the owner still loves it!!!!

Barbara, my home in California had a courtyard. It was a space between the house and garage. I had a Virgin Island palm,  Mexican fan palm, New Zealand palm, Big leaf Philodendron, and century plant plus a goldfish pond there.

You have another specialty, Don!  Plants!  I have no idea what those plants are!
