California Single Family Homes Sales & Values Report December Of 2023

On January 17, 2024, California Association of Realtors (C.A.R) reported an annualized rate of 224,000 single family homes sold in California in December of 2023 slightly up 0.0% from 223,940 in November of 2023, but fell 7.1% from 241,070 home sales in December of 2022 in California.

Single family homes values lower 0.3% to the price of $819,740 in December of 2023 from price of $822,200 in November of 2023, but gained 6.4% from price of $770,490 in December of 2022 in California.

The average price for a square foot was $398.00 in December of 2023 increased from $373.00 in December of 2022 in California.

There were 2.5 months supplies of available inventory of single family homes in December of 2023, down from 3.0 months in November of 2023, and from 2.6 months in December of 2022 in California. 

An average it took 26.0 days to sell a single family home in December 2023, higher from 21.0 days in November of 2023, but lower from 33.0 days in December of 2022 in California.
