I don't think I have ever made the effort to smile all day long BUT I have made the effort to emulate the wonderful example of Anna "Banana" Kruchten 's positive attitude.
A forced smile always looks like a forced smile, we don't fool anyone with it. I think this is a very important, yet simple, lesson all Sales Professionals should keep in mind. If your client sees a forced smile they are going to think you are not being honest with them at that moment and question if you have been dishonest with them through out your dealings with them. Honesty includes body language so just act naturally.

Some people actually do not know how to smile. Most of you know my son Timmothy from his cartoon, Titus & Philemon, but you may not know is that Timmothy has high functioning autism. He had a great smile when something would tickle his fancy, as he does today, BUT to ask him to smile for a picture always had THIS result:

We always knew when we were dealing with an experienced PROFESSIONAL photographer. Hint, it wasn't the one who said "Gee whiz kid, smile damn it!". The pros knew the way to make a little boy smile was to make rude noises or just plain old act funny.
As discussed often in this Real Estate forum a professional photographer is going to make your listing pictures smile... and make your listing sell faster then the amateur who says " damn it, it's good enough".
