Just ONE More Chore

If you are a pet owner you are most likely familiar with the scenario in the cartoon above. For me it's my dog, Baby, needing to go out just as I'm ready to go to bed and occasionally (rarely) in the middle of the night. Timmothy's cartoon is speaking from his experience as a (past) guinea pig owner. Guinea pigs get very loud when they want/need something.

Joe, above, needs his sleep and so do you. We have all seen charts like this:

and I am sure we have all said "that's not me, I get by on half that". Assuming you know better then the experts you still have a minimum amount of sleep you require. I found a website, sleepdoctor.com that had a lot of interesting information on the subject. A couple of sentences caught my attention:

Losing an hour or two of sleep for just a few nights greatly impairs your ability to function. Experts say losing sleep this way is the equivalent of functioning without an entire night or two of sleep.

There is much more but I didn't want to just cut and paste so I encourage you to check it out.

Tying it all to Real Estate

We are Real Estate experts! We owe it to our clients to be our best... not sleep walk through our duties. If your reaction to this post is What the sleep EXPERTS say doesn't apply to me then maybe you can relate to the FSBO's who say I know better then those money grubbing Realtors.

Have yourself a good day.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Hello Bob and feeding animals can be a routine we do twice a day.  The older I get the more naps I take.

I walk my Black Lab 3 times per day . If I walk him too late on his final walk it often wakes me back up and postpones me from going right to bed

Good Morning Bob "RealMan" Timm

This is really good advice regarding sleep which many abuse. A balanced lifestyle includes the proper amount of restful sleep so that we perform optimally.

You are a better man then I Michael J. Perry as the best I do is to walk my dog every other day. Fortunately for Baby my son picks up the slack for my not walking her.

Bob "RealMan" Timm,  I have a Siamese cat now, so no worries, but years ago, I had a lassie collie, and I would walk her late at night. Darn lady think she would learn at least once a year and get hit by a Skunk

Hannah Williams I and my dogs have been lucky not to have been sprayed. Living near a river and camping often it's a small miracle. Just out of curiosity how does one deal with a pet being sprayed.

I like that they make requests and I am sure that their requests are met since they are likely spoiled, haha.

I wake up when my body has enough sleep and it's usually right around 7 hours. I can't get more sleep even if I tried. Which means I'm right in alignment with the "experts" and the adults in the above chart.

Enjoy your day!

Routines are good for both man and beast Endre Barath, Jr. . BTW a routine is essential when working with someone who is autistic. Even today, after 22 years, Timmothy's daily schedule starts and ends at the same time.

I fall right in line too Kat Palmiotti with 7.5 hours. Now if we add napping in I am going to exceed the guidelines.

Brian England while Timmothy's guinea pigs made it known that they were hungry I don't think they had any special requests BUT Timmothy always had grapes and spinach handy for them.
