January often feels like the longest month of the year by a long shot, but we’ve made it through! Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, so we can hope for an early spring. However, in the meantime, don’t let a little cold keep you from enjoying all that winter has to offer in the Pocono Mountains.

This weekend, Saturday February 3rd, is Winterfest at Nescopeck State Park. Spanning over 3,000 acres in Luzerne County, Nescopeck State Park is an excellent place to enjoy the outdoors in all four seasons. There will be fun for the whole family at Winterfest this year: children’s crafts and games, a warming fire, an ice harvest display and the history of ice harvesting, a winter wildlife walk, and much more. The park is known for catering to bird enthusiasts, and Winterfest is no different: bird lovers can enjoy a late morning bird walk, birdwatching for science, and DIY bird feeder making. There is also a self-guided photo scavenger hunt to enjoy at your own pace!

Ready to enjoy the outdoors during winter in the Poconos? I can get you here!
