Should you Rent or Own? This is an age old debate and is always a significant decision in ones lifetime.

Homeownership brings a myriad of benefits that extend beyond the satisfaction of having a place to call your own. Welcome to the wild world of home ownership.  Watching your money disappear into the abyss of property taxes, homeowners insurance, and spending your weekends at Home Depot instead of the beach.

I'm personally seeing many senior citizens opt for renting after they have sold their home and are renting as they are in "kind of a holding pattern".  Waiting to see where they ultimately want to settle, or waiting for just the right property to come along in our current market where there are fewer properties available. Or, millennials not wanting to commit to a specific geographical area until their later years...

The joys of being a renter - calling the landlord when the toilet won't stop running, but at the same time you are living in fear of rent hikes, lease renewals, and never knowing if your security deposit will make it out alive.

But you are able to paint the walls whatever color you want or customize to your hearts content.

There is something deeply satisfying about knowing that you have a place to call your own.  The emotional fulfillment of homeownership is undeniable. Owning a home is not just a financial transaction; it's an investment in one's future and a place to create lasting memories.

The pride of homeownership transcends mere property ownership; it symbolizes a tangible representation of accomplishment and stability.

While renting does offer flexibility, homeownership embodies a long-term commitment, as well as a a multitude of financial rewards.

The decision ultimately depends on individual circumstances and preferences, but the allure of a home to call your own remains a timeless and compelling prospect.

In the end, whether you choose to rent or buy is a deeply personal decision that depends on your lifestyle, financial situation, and long term goals.

But...home is where you hang your hat, be is a cozy apartment or sprawling house

with that white picket fence and wrap around front porch.

Buying real estate is always a good investment, though not everyone is intended to be a home owner. Enjoyed your valid comparisons for both renting and buying, Joyce.

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! I agree. Home ownership is not for everyone. Personally it’s the right choice for me but I see many people that choose to rent instead.
