Job Creation high in Brevard County Florida.
From 2001 to 2006, the Orlando and Brevard County metropolitan areas outpaced the nation in adding technology sector jobs
(PressMethod) - Per an article in the Orlando sentinel dated june 24th, 08, the Palm Bay-Melbourne area grew by 9 percent, or 1,708 jobs. During that same period, overall technology employment in the U.S. declined by 11.7 percent, or 763,443 jobs.
Maryann Fiala, executive director of the Florida Council for AeA, the technology industry group that produced the report, said Brevard's job growth can largely be attributed to expansion at Melbourne-based defense and government contractor Harris Corp., which is Central Florida's largest high-tech company. In addition neighboring Orlando has been able to add more jobs than other cities because the region has a lot of small companies that are more agile and don't have to shed as many workers as larger companies when economic conditions change

I believe one of the reasons we see such good growth is that we have schools which help these companies fill their needed spots for computer science and engineering.
When asked if this could have any impact on local Real Estate, Steve answered-of course and for two reasons. First, as our local companies expand they add jobs and secondly, people who want to be near the beach and our coastal amenities are doing the commute to Orlando. So yes, it all adds up to more people living here.
