Valentine's day seems to ebb and flow in terms of popularity. I for one love the holiday. For one thing, it bridges the gap between New Years and ST PADDY'S day!!! Another thing is that it is fun and allows us to express creativity in the display of emotions and gratitude. BTW a colleague mentioned to me this week the "gratitude is the shortest emotion" and I REALLY have to second that statement.
So how will the AR community celebrate? Anything new, novel or fun?
I read that the trend is to cook at home because the cost of dining out has risen faster than the cost of "groceries". I noted that in the haunts that I frequent, prices are INSANE. Coffee...$9.00....iced tea...$7.00 (what are the costs on those????).
A "Big ASS soft pretzel....soft pretzel and a sports bar...$18.00!!! WHEW!
Those lovable rogues at CNN reported recently that the cost of groceries has risen 1.2% year over year while the cost of dining out has increased 5.1% year over year. I do not see how this is possible,
It seems that each has risen much ore than this - especially groceries. I reviewed my Instacart orders from Whole Foods and Vons.....the costs of groceries have risen more than 10% for me during the past year - for the same items of course. Not to mention the "shrinkflation" under which the size of the products has become smaller but the prices have remained the same or risen.
