Yes, here we are on Valentine's Day again, it feels a little like Groundhog Day, it just keeps coming round and round. But, have you ever really considered what is love?
Love is an emotion, sure, but we use the word loosely. We love our parents, our lover, our spouse, our kids, our grandkids, our pets, our cars, our home, our favorite food, our favorite book or movie, even our jobs.
Do we love them all in the same way? Certainly not, but we use the same word, love.
Certain songs move us, that we say, I love this song. Here is a Youtube list of love songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
When it comes to people, we may love conditionally or unconditionally, it all depends on how we were loved or not by parents. Some people may have anger rather than love for parents they felt did not love them. I know I was loved, by both my father and mother, I was very lucky. I loved my sons as they grew up and challenged authority and got into trouble some times. Overall we came through it all.
Then there is the one you commit your life and your love to, a spouse, and all is great till it isn't, either health wise or emotionally and a divorce results. And then if you are really lucky you find someone else to love you and to love.
Loving a house is not so dramatic, people fall in love with a house and purchase it, they make changes, decorate, paint, buy antiques, furniture, paintings etc., to turn it into a home. They create a garden, planting shrubs, flowers and trees to create a special place, a bench where they can sit and enjoy what they have created, enjoying nature around them.
If you are looking for a house to make a home, I can help, I understand the challenges in finding the right place, it can take time and be something of a challenge sometimes. But, at the right time the right place comes along and you fall in love and can move in and start your journey.
Maybe, it is time to let go of that place you have called home and loved for a long time, making it your own. I understand how hard that can be, letting go, especially if you are now alone after a long journey together with a partner.
