I met Fran in a most unusual way.

I was meeting a client early on Sunday morning.  He had just bought a home in a 55-plus community in Delray Beach, and I needed to get his application before he headed back home.

Picture this.  It's 9:00 am Sunday morning.  We're in the Walgreen's parking lot.  I'm going through his application to make sure everything is signed when I notice he forgot to get his signature notarized.  

Where am I going to find a notary at 9:00 am on Sunday morning?  

I start to think.  We tossed ideas back and forth, and then I said, Next Door.  I always see people advertising for mobile notaries on Next Door.

I started to make calls.  First to a woman who was still in her pajamas.  She proceeded to give us a speech on what was entailed in having a document notarized.  I was a notary in order to administer an oath as a court reporter, and my buyer was a notary as a builder.

After listening to her for 10 or 15 minutes, we'd had enough. We were wasting time.  We told her nicely, thank you but no thank you, and hung up. 

Next!

I proceeded to call the next number, who is a person that advertises daily.  No answer.   And a third - and still no answer.

Then I stumbled onto a fourth name, who happened to be Fran.  She answered the phone.  I told her our dilemma.  

Fran said:  I'm not dressed, the house is not all put together, but come over!  

We were ecstatic! 

A person who actually did what they said.  I will never understand why people advertise their services and then do not respond.  

So off we went to Fran's house.  She couldn't have been more welcoming, nicer or more pleasant.  And the topper for me was that she had had a papillon!   She brought out his picture to show us.  What a beautiful dog.  

The buyer and her got into a conversation because they had lived in the same area out of state.   I mean, what are the odds?  You can't make this stuff up!

Fran is the best! 

She helped us that morning.  I don't know what we would have done if we couldn't have had the buyer's signature notarized, because it was Sunday and everything was closed.

We ended up exchanging phone numbers and will stay friends.   Yes, that's how wonderful she is!
