Tiny Butts & Lucky Shots At The Yuma Golf & Country Club

This past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday was the annual Yuma (Arizona) Country Club Women's Invitational. Lola and Marilyn, whom I met up with last year, connected me with a woman named Joyce as a partner for the 3-day event.

Joyce couldn't be there Thursday for the putting contest and the horse race, so I rode "shotgun" as Lola and Marilyn's cheering section. I wasn't sure we could (or should) put the 3 of us in one cart, but Lola said I have a tiny butt, so we'll fit nicely. We had a lot of fun with that, and they only forgot about me once, so I had to chase them down the fairway. Can't you just imagine me running down the fairway yelling, "Wait for me? Wait for me?"

On Friday, Joyce and I connected, and we had a blast with the Modified Chapman format. We ended the first day at 3rd Gross and tied for 1st net in our division. Saturday's format was a 2-person best ball, and we ham and egged it pretty well. We ended up winning low net in our division.

There were a couple of shots during the weekend that I wish I had a video of because they were unbelievable, in a good way. On one shot, I had to go over the water. I hit the rock wall on the far side of the water; it bounced high in the air and stopped just left of the pin.  Golf is a funny game. When you can't be good, you're just hoping the golf gods are willing to help out.

The next day, on that same hole, I just barely cleared the water. My ball was sitting precariously on the edge of the bank down to the water. When I hit my shot, it went up in the air, on the green, bounced a couple of times, and right into the hole.  I'm sure that one was skill, not luck.

What does this have to do with real estate or life? There is more than one way to reach a goal. Sometimes there are obstacles in your way. Sometimes you get lucky, but whatever the situation is, you just have to come up with a plan and make the best of it. You never know when something unexpectedly good will happen.

Hello Carol - one could think this post is about golf, derrieres or something else butt wait, it's about so much more.  Afterall, real estate plays a role in so many parts of everyday life.  We need only to putt it into perspective.  May your winter away from Wenatchee continue to wow you with wonderful experiences.

I never took up golf, I wish I had but now it’s not on my list. But who knows, I never say never!

Oh My Gosh, Joyce Marsh, it's so much fun. It's not all about golf. It's about time with friends. We have a blast, and there are a lot of ladies who take it up after retirement. There are so many things to do, and we just have to make choices about how we spend our time. Golf is one of my things. Traveling all over the country and making new friends on the golf course has been life-changing for me.

Good morning, Roy Kelley
I know some hard core golfers that might be out in that kind of weather, but I am not one of them. Of course, they won't let us out on the course if there is frost on any of the greens.
