I'm Halfway There Because I Believe
I used to have a book where I would cut up pictures and glue them on the pages, things I wanted to have when grew up, and some things I wanted then as a child, most likely dolls. I always cut up pictures of families that looked happy, a father and daughter walking holding hands, or a father dancing with his bride daughter. Year after year, I cut up similar pictures and saved them, somehow, looking at them made me happy, and gave me hope but my parents never got back together and I never had a loving relationship with my dad.
I had no idea what a vision board was back then, this was something I enjoyed doing. I know now, that some of our dreams should be realistic, yes, miracles do happen and we should never, ever give up hope but expecting the impossible is not healthy either.
My first real vision board was when I worked for Walt Disney World. In the beginning, I didn't pay much attention, just pinned some pictures on a board at the beginning of the year, and seldom paid any attention to it throughout the year until it was time to make a new one as if it was a chore.
Now, when I'm ready to prepare my vision board, it is more meaningful to me. I make sure it is right in front of me for the visual, I also have it electronically in my phone, as a screesaver and print out of it. I actually expect everything on my vision board to materialize before the year is over.
It is not because I have cut up pictures on a board but because I believe, meditate on them, and be intentional.
Thank you Kathy Streib and Wanda(for some reason, I was not able to tag you) for hosting this great contest.
