Where did all the Chittenden County Condos Go?

There is nothing for sale in Vermont!

Well, at least that is how it feels for buyers looking for condos in Vermont today. Especially in Chittenden County. And here is why.

The current number of condos for sale is at a record low!

As of today, there are only 116 Condos For Sale In Chittenden County, Vermont! That's right, only 46, and if you take away properties that are yet to be built, the number drops even more. For example, if you are looking for a Williston, Vermont Condo, you will only find 2 condos that are for sale and 6 that are pending. This is down about 80% from where it would be in a normalized market! 

When will this change? 

Well, that is the million-dollar question. We are in a stalling pattern as buyers and sellers are giving up low interest rates vs rising costs, including taxes and inflation. At some point, this should shift, and we hopefully see an uptick in inventory, but in the short term, no signs of this happening have shown up. 

Good news and bad news. 

This is great news if you need to sell and want to get a record-high price for your condo. Especially if you are moving out of the area to a market with more inventory. This is bad news, however, if you need to find a condo in the near future. Your search will be tough, and having a pro on your side will be key to your success!
