Make It Real |The Art of Genuine Interaction
Embracing Authentic Comments in a World of Canned Responses
Well here we are, in an age that is pretty much dominated by social media and digital communication.
The value of authentic human interaction cannot be overstated
In the midst of a flood of automated replies and generic comments, I wonder about the art of real communication.
Real and authentic comments not only foster meaningful connections, but they also enrich our online experiences, and remind us of the power of the genuine human connection that is currently lacking in our predominately digital world.
Here in ActiveRain, there are some people who comment for points, not necessarily connection. Way too often we see the same comment made on the twenty blogs per day, regardless of what the blog post was actually about. Unfortunately, I think they’re missing the point. (pun) I see it on X, Facebook, and Instagram as well.
The value of actual and authentic human interaction cannot be overstated, especially when we read a genuine, heartfelt response, that comes from a place of sincerity and personal investment.
Maybe you just read a thought provoking article, blog, or someone was pouring out their heart in a personal post. It is so refreshing when you see others offering words of support, and an authentic comment.
When someone takes the time to write a genuine response, that also invites others to do the same.
Then the magic happens when people are actually reading each others comments. Those comments have the ability to facilitate the exchange of ideas, whereas canned responses feel impersonal and superficial, and that totally discourages any further interaction.
I read a comment earlier today by our Michael Jacobs. If you are fortunate enough to receive a comment
written by Michael, you will find that he puts so much thought into all of his comments.
We were discussing the value of reading through others comments and Michael commented,
"Other member's posts, comments, questions/answers and many sorts of interactions from ActiveRain
are food for thought. For me, an added serving of deliciousness is pondering fodder."
A heartfelt compliment or words of encouragement can brighten someone's day and leave a lasting impact, which demonstrates the influence of genuine human interaction over a generic canned response. They serve as a reminder of the kindness and empathy that exists.
Michael Jacobs was actually on a roll today, because he inspired me to write another blog as well. That's the beauty of reading blogs here in ActiveRain and reading through all of the comments back and forth. New members can benefit from that as well. Once they realize that there is a real community here where "real" conversations do take place.
By prioritizing authenticity in our interactions, we not only enrich our own online experiences but also contribute to a more vibrant and compassionate on-line community. Think about that next time you are commenting on any given topic, blog, or social media post.
People really appreciate a genuine human response and it also encourages others to do the same and that can spark a meaningful dialogue as well as an exchange of new ideas and suggestions.
We can learn from each other in so many ways.
