2024 San Diego Restaurant Week

~ March 3rd - 10th ~

Food lovers will be thrilled that San Diego Restaurant Week just around the corner, March 3rd through the 10th. This is the 1st of 2 events for 2024 with 8 days of dining opportunities.

San Diegans can enjoy a wide range of food offerings at great prices at 100+ restaurants all around San Diego! How can a dedicated food lover go wrong with so many options?

The challenge will be deciding where to dine, and at how many different places.

San Diego Restaurant Week offers reduced prices on fixed price multi-course menus for lunch, brunch and/or dinner. At some places you’ll even find a drink included as a course. Keep in mind that not all restaurants offer 3 meals – some may just offer dinner.

Restaurants are located across a wide geographic area, including downtown San Diego, inland/East County, and north to Carlsbad and Oceanside.

There are 3 in my hometown of Carlsbad – Seasons Restaurant, Draft Republic, and Ponto Lago. I hope to make it to at least 1. (photo below is not of a particular meal being offer during Restaurant Week).

Fixed prices range by meal, starting at $20 at lunch, and vary by restaurant. Check out the individual restaurant listings to see what’s offered and pricing.

2024 San Diego Restaurant week is a fun and tasty way to check out places where you might not normally eat. It’s an opportunity to expand your culinary horizons and visit places you’ve heard about but haven’t tried.

Some restaurants offer outdoor dining, curbside pick-up/take-out, and deliveries. Don’t assume but check first, depending on your preferences, for pricing and availability. And be sure to check the restaurant hours and meals offered…it might only be dinner!

No doubt you will find some dining options near your home. But why not travel a bit and explore new places. And why not be adventurous in your dining instead of doing the same old same old?

It’s easy to participate in San Diego Restaurant Week 2024. Tickets are not needed. Simply visit participating restaurants that intrigue you and take advantage of their great dining and prices.

Reservations are not required but always make sense, especially for dinner and on the weekend. Keep in mind this is a popular event. It’s better to be prepared with a reservation than wait in line or find out there is no room available. Some restaurants offer Open Table reservations directly from the San Diego Restaurant Week website, or on their own business websites.

If you’re not keen on the Restaurant Week options offered you can also order from the regular restaurant menu.

It’s time to plan lunch or dinner out during San Diego Restaurant Week, perhaps more than once. All you need is your wallet and a good appetite!

Hello Jeff - I think restaurants weeks can be a good idea on multiple levels.  It provides opportunities for foodies as well as those who may occasionally try dining out to enjoy a familiar favorite or try to something new.  It is also good for business owners to showcase their dining establishments to a broader base.  May this San Diego event be successful.

Hi Michael Jacobs

You made some great points about San Diego Restaurant Week. I've not seen actual stats on how many participate but it seems to get larger each year with more restaurants and the prices for multi-course meals are pretty favorable.

Diane and I used to love Restaurant week here in Los Angeles pre pandemic, we could taste some of the Restaurant's Meals that we have not visited.... after the pandemic shutdown.... we lost interest in participating anything that has crowds in it, Endre

No doubt the pandemic put quite a damper on dining out for some time Endre Barath, Jr.

I would enjoy something like that where I get the opportunity to try restaurants that I wouldn't normally be able to try.

Hi Brian England I suspect many look at it from that perspective. And it's good for the restaurants to bring new and more people in.

Hi Jeff,
It's always fun to try new places to eat. My birthday is coming up in early April and I've already made plans with friends to go to a place we've never tried for lunch.

Sounds like a good time ahead for your birthday with friends, Carol Williams. You'll have to report back on your experience!

You're speaking my language now, Jeff, with San Deigi Restaurant Week. Eating well is something we can control when the world around us is pure chaos. Last night, I made French Onion Chicken and it was delish!

Sounds wonderful Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can!  There is something very comforting about food, even more so when you make it/grow it yourself.
