It never fails end of one year, or the beginning of the next - you always wonder what the New Year has in store. I think most REALTORS can say 2023 wasn't their best year. I know mine was not. So far, 2024 isn't showing much promise.
I had been contemplating retirement but found I got too bored in between transactions and trips. I want to travel now while I am still able, both physically and mentally. You never know what is around the corner! Although I was able to get out of town last year every other month or so, for the time at home, I needed to find hobbies or something to do. After all, you can only clean so much, and cleaning out closets or drawers can only be done so often.
My client base still doesn't want to move with these rates, but have shown many homes just to keep them "in the game". It doesn't sound like the rates will come down anytime soon.
My Dream Board/Vision Board has lots of travel on it, and am looking forward to a trip to South America in the Spring. Brazil, Argentina, and Peru to Machu Picchu. When I was doing research, it kept saying "high crime" almost everywhere I was looking. So starting looking for a tour group again. I went this route going to Costa Rica also, and is still one of my top 3 trips. It is nice to make new friends and keep up with them over the years!
I also expect some clients to move forward with either a buy or a sell (or both) despite the rates. If I am out of town, I have a couple of REALTORS to assist me, which is so nice.
I did purchase a "kitty condo" for the back seat of my car, so on trips close to home, I hope to bring those little demons with me, as I miss them so much when I leave. The vet prescribed a med to help them sleep while in the car, but they did pretty well. There are two hammocks also, and they really liked those a lot. I found we have 27 waterfalls in Colorado, and when there is downtime, I shall start to work on that list too.
I found this quote, and really told the story. I used to wait to see if someone could go with me, but after years, I gave up and now go by myself. ALL GOOD!
“The man who goes alone can start today, but he who travels with another must wait till that other is ready.” – Henry David Thoreau
