On the Road, Week 1 Little Rock to New MexicoACF Conference

Been enjoying working from the road for a little over a week, expecting warmer weather, however okay with the cool temperatures along the way.

First stop was in Little Rock Arkansas for a Foresters Conference with the Association of Consulting Foresters.  Always a joy to hang out with the best of the best in Forestry.

Bob at Clinton LibraryAlso enjoyed a visit to the Clinton Library while in town, surprisingly several other colleagues spent their Sunday afternoon there too.

Then I drove across Oklahoma and Texas over the next few days, enjoying the scenery and the cool weather. And a few stops to learn about Texas windmills, The World’s Largest Cross, and Route 66.

Finally arriving in New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, and a favorite place from  my early career with the US Forest Service.New Mexico Welcome to Land of Enchantment

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend much of the morning with an old friend and colleague from Active Rain, John McCormack, CRS .  A great visit discussing family, business, Active Rain, and travel. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture).

Sunday was spent resting at a little park near Santa Fe, catching up on paperwork, cleaning my camper van, and attending Mass online.Santa Fe Mtns

Looking forward to learning, visiting, exploring and more down the trail.

Have a great week folks!

What fun! My parents lived in Albuquerque for many years and I have a lot of fond memories of that area as well as Santa Fe, Taos, etc.

Bob, seeing you again and enjoying some hot Pinon Coffee together was great. I think we decided it had been 10 years since we saw each other last.  It's always good to catch up with old friends and associates here in Active Rain. Enjoyed our conversation and hearing of your travels! Cheers to you and all of the great people in Active Rain!
