The Landenberg Store

Michael J. Perry sent me a message last week with a link to The Landenberg Store. As my wife had the day off on Friday we decided to go visit as it is only about twenty minutes away and the link looked interesting.

Well this store is in Landenberg, obviously, right on the creek, and it was busy, we parked behind the store as the front was full, and when we went inside it was pretty busy. What had attracted us was the bread, which looked home baked, but, unfortunately is not, but still pretty good.

It seemed to be a place where people stopped on their way home to pick up a sandwich or something else they had. As I mentioned the bread, we purchased some, a small baguette, nice and crusty and very good flavor; and a cranberry walnut loaf, which is very nice toasted with some honey on it with a cup of good coffee. Yes, they also seem to grind coffee as well.

The sandwiches sounded good if a little pricey, but judging from how busy they were they must be good. They also stock a selection of honey, candy, hot sauces, flowers etc.

The people working there all seemed very pleasant and friendly, so whilst a little out of the way for us, might be worth another trip to get some coffee or to try a sandwich.

That sounds like a "hey if we're ever in the area at lunchtime, we'll stop by" kind of place! If it was on the way home for work, looks like one could pick up some flowers and a card as well!

Hello Nick - ActiveRain proves "filling" in more ways than feeding us good content plus the possibilities of building relationships in real estate and beyond.  AR can also satisfy our stomachs as well as introduce things found around where we live.  Kudos to Michael J. Perry for the tip that led you to The Landenberg Store.

Good afternoon Nick,

Good for you for taking a little out of the way adventure to something new! It looks and sounds like a great place that you could easily go back off and one to get some coffee and a sandwich!

Hi Nick- I love finds like the Landenberg store!!!  While I buy almost all of my groceries from the big chain in Texas, it's fun to find stores like this one. You never know what you'll discover.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - When I saw the sign in the window that said Boar's Head, I knew this had to be a good sign. From the looks of things in your pictures, it looks like a quaint, clean, and interesting place to swing by for coffee or a nice deli sandwich. Definitely a step up from the gas station convenience stores! It's always fun to try new places. I think it's cool that Michael J. Perry recommended it! What a great sport he is!
