While I've been away from ActiveRain and real estate biz took a dive, I HAVE been busy on our 14 AC ranch where we have our large animal non-profit sanctuary, On Golden Rescue.
Currently while I'm in Florida, our team picked up four "minis", 3 mini donkeys and a mini horse, named Pippin. Here's a look at their story!

Pippi should be fun to watch in the new environment. It was great to hear Pippi. I got the feeling Pippi was braying with laughter and excitement to get out of the trailer after that long commute to a nice clean pasture, with horses too! These three donkeys went straight to my heart!!!
Patricia, those mini donkeys that we've had and now added more to have such a remarkably kind attitude towards humans. Blows me away, frankly. And as to Pippin, he LOVES other horses! That was why he was whinnying! Being in Florida during this rescue, I haven't gotten to see them live and in person yet, but I'll be creating videos and photos of my own, I'm sure (to share)! Thank you again for "roping me back in"!

Dorie, there is so much more that we are doing at On Golden Rescue! My husband, Larry, has created all kinds of ways to live off grid, capture water, made solar systems for several of the buildings, and and and...we do training videos on mud management (a BIG deal for equines in the wet winter/spring months), emergency preparedness, horse training, medical procedures--you name it! I'm usually the one there taking the photos and videos for our website team, so I miss being there right now, but I'm busy in Florida getting my second home rented here in Homosassa Springs!
Mini donkeys look cool, I don't think that I have ever seen one in person, haha.

Brian, they are SO endearing! We have more than what are shown here, too. Very calm, easy to love, mostly rotund (we have to be very mindful of their dietary intake)...they are no longer usually used as "working" animals anymore, but are still around and we have become sort of a niche market for minis and mini donkeys. I love them ALL!

Juan, they would melt hearts--gotta say! I absolutely love the mini donkeys, all of them. They manage to forgive humans quickly and stay present. Something we could ALL learn to do!
