While the new museum is under construction (which began in April 2008, and is expected to open by the Fall of 2009), the City of Tampa has located a an interum location in Old West Tampa. The temporary facility is in the historic Centro Espanol Building on North Howard Avenue in the heart of the West Tampa National Register Historic District.
