Is it Treat Time?

By

We humans are well trained when it comes to doing what our dogs want.  Well, kind of and kind of not.  But - boy oh boy these guys are good at making it well known just exactly what they want  - treats of course!

That got me to thinking about one of my favorite quotes.........

What you think about and what you get always matches!

                                                                              Esther Hicks

Recently I've been working  on keeping my head on straight! And that is no joke!  About 3 weeks ago I went to new dentist and OMG I had no idea of what could go wrong. For a simple cleaning and Xrays the gal had me in that dentist chair for over 2 hours.  Think about it, 2 hours of laying kind of upside down in weird position.  I had no idea of how bad that would effect my neck. It just never occurred to me before that day. Talk about painful.

I've had to work really hard at keeping the above quote in my mind, and especially when the pain was the worst.  Which honestly seems like it always was very uncomfortable, especially at night. Thankfully it's starting to ease up after going to my Chiro for several weeks and constantly icing it all down.  Little by little my head is moving more and I'm getting around better. It's been a he** of beginning of the year.  And I'm thankful to be here on March 13, looking forward to a fantastic rest of the year@

Just putting this out there for any of you going through a challenging time. Keep up the faith.  You'll get there just as I have day by day.  I printed out the quote and kept it front and center and added this along to it.....

When you withdraw your attention from those things that are not pleasing, and you put your attention upon those things that are pleasing, those pleasing things begin to become more abundant: and those not pleasing things become more rare.  Until, and eventually, those not-pleasing things cannot be part of of your experience because you will have eliminated your attraction factor onto the light side.

It does take determination that you're going to to put your thoughts upon something that does feel good. And trust me, on this one I had to constantly change my mind to better feeling thoughts. It's worth it to stay focused!  Just like these little pups!  Do they ever give up?  NOPE!

Hi Anna:

That is such a cute picture - our cat is great at letting up know what she wants and when...and often.

So glad I did not have YOUR dental experience when I was in the dentist chair for short time yesterday. But there is more ahead. Hope you are feeling much better soon!

Jeff

Good morning Anna. Of all the pain you can incur, a pain in the neck is the worst for me. Hope you are making progress in overcoming the inconvenience and are returning to normal. Your pups are hoping you return to normal soon. One day at a time. Enjoy your day.

Hello Anna "Banana" Kruchten

Glad to hear your neck is healing. Dentists are a necessary (I joke) evil. If I could I would have them gas me and do their stuff...lol

Had no idea of your recent challenges Anna. Will pray that you get back to 100% and become pain-free. 🙏 🙏 🙏 Interesting what you described because a friend of mine experienced almost the same thing and she is still unable to twist her head to left and right.

Congrats on the feature and I am also working through some dental issues.  Last week was another 2 hours in the chair and this week I am being fitted for a crown.  Then in a couple of weeks another two crowns (I broke one tooth) and some cleaning. Thankfully my dentists are great and true professionals.  Still we must be positive and patient when these situations arise.  I keep this thought in mind "Focus on what you can control and ignore the rest."

Hi Anna,
You've certainly had plenty of opportunity these last few months to practice keeping your mind in the right frame. Hopefully, this too will pass.

I can certainly relate to your story...had a lengthy dentist appointment a few years ago that resulted in severe jaw pain for over a week. Chiropractor and even some acupuncture before it eased up.

It isn't easy keeping a positive mind...takes a lot of practice. I'm certainly no where near mastering it yet.

What you are writing about, Anna "Banana" Kruchten, seems like a different take on goal setting. Just setting a goal does nothing. We must work towards our goals, just as you envisioned less pain and better health. Of course, that brings to mind...Think positive!
