I just learned about California's Citizens' Property Tax Assistance Program

Hi! This is my first post to Active Rain (just joined today.) I thought I'd share information I learned yesterday from California Assemblymember Ira Ruskin.

Did you know that California has a Property Tax Assistance Program available to Seniors that provides a maximum refund of $473 for homeowners and $348 for eligible renters? One might qualify if: 1) 62 years of age or older or disabled; 2) owned home or rented in 2007; 3) annual income less that $42,770 in 2007; and 4) U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident or other eligible immigrant.

October 15, 2008 is deadline for a refund.

Contact www.ftb.ca.gov for more information

Looking forward to being part of this community!
