Sandpoint Realty Drone Videos Learning Curve

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

I recently uploaded a video to YouTube showing off a new Sandpoint Realty vacant land listing, courtesy of our new agent Tara Hart.  Just two days ago I was out at another new listing of Tara's trying to beat the forecasted weather that was but a day away.  Previous  Five Lakes Estates video shown below, with a couple of shots of the newer video shots also included with this post.

There is  much much more to simply purchasing a drone and getting aerial views of a property for sale, so I could not help but appreciate Andrew Moorers' Post today.

As with anything new there is definitely a learning curve.  The benefits are huge in what drone footage offers to potential buyers, as well as to a seller standing out from the majority of other listings.  That needs be kept in mind while working, lol, through the learning curve.   I believe the short 2 minute video does much in showing off the advantages for both seller and buyers.

Below are a couple of preview photos we were able to shoot with the perfect weather window for this new listing on Kelso Lake Road in Athol Idaho.  Again our new Sandpoint Reatly agent working hard and seeing results.  The video of the below property will be edited and up for viewing, on Youtube soon.

Sandpoint Realty 33 acres Kelso Lake Road

The above photo clearly shows the grandeur of the country surrounding this 33 acre parcel with the red barn being at the eastern most portion of the parcel.

Again I would like to stress Sandpoint Realty is very happy with, and impressed with new agent Tara Hart.  Both above listings are courtesy Tara with Selkirk MLS Listing numbers MLS 20240421  and MLS 20240409.

Sandpoint Realty strives to improve the ways to show properties in their best possible light in order to attract the most possible buyers to a seller.  If you are interested in knowing what other advantages are offered at Sandpoint Realty please do contact me.

Hello Mark - it seems my learning curve" list continues to grow longer each day.  I can't imagine what twists and turns it would take should I tackle drone navigation.  Talk about driving myself crazy (or crazier).  🤣

For some properties drone photos tell a story that words defy and also makes an impression with the sellers.

Hi Mark- I love the use of drones to showcase a property. The first one I saw still sticks in my head. I had all kinds of trouble backing up the bass boat when it was on the trailer so I'm sure any drone I flew would end up who knows where.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho  I pay professional photographers to do my photos and drone videos. Well worth the extra money, this is what they do full time... I know one session pays for the drone machine:)Endre

Top of the morning Endre.  Many feel as you do in wanting a professional.  I have gone with the Patton, and many other modern day guru's lol, that a good plan 'done' today, better than waiting for the 'perfect' plan executed later.  I am sure even in LA area the number of people using drone footage for their listing is but a very small percentage of the overall.

And while not professional level, yet, they continue getting better with each shot.  And what I set out to do I have accomplished.  Sandpoint Realty a step above what 99% of other agencies offer, with any listing no matter the price point.

I find this to be a huge advantage for our agents, at no cost to them, to offer prospective sellers when at listing appointments.  And as we know the expense most of the time will deter an agent from hiring out.

Ironically many agents when being sent these videos are asking who the drone company is and can they get their name.  lol  That enthusiasm dwindles when risking another agent coming to their listing.  I do find it encouraging another agent sees the benefit of my drone footage.

So while understanding the difference of a professional, I will continue learning and thinking 'done better than perfect'.

Make it a great day Endre.  Always enjoy you stopping by.  m

Photography is such an important part of marketing homes these days.  And, drone photography is often critical, especially with rural properties.  I have often thought about buying a drone, but know I'd be on a learning curve for awhile.

Good morning Myrl,  While the learning curve still there for me the real challenge was the test.  Completely foreign to me and very much the same as written 'pilots test'.  We do adapt though.  m

Love what you did, Mark. There are certainly advantages to using drone shots and video to showcase a property. I have a great videographer who works with the professional photographer  use for my listings. Most of my listings have not been suitable for drone videos but aerial shots have worked well.

Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573 DOES a great job on his videos and his recent tutorial post on drones was excellent.

Thank you for the shout out Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho. With drone photography, you are not in the back of the plane watching the inflight movie. You are plying the joy sticks, scanning the horizon and making the inflight movie. Telling a story about your new property listing or covering a local community event.

Great post and glad it was added to the YouTube Thursdays group! You are an important part of the group as a licensed FAA remote pilot posting about your flying adventures.

Excellent to hear you are doing drone photography/videography. I find the most difficult part is with the video - trying to go at a nice speed that isn't jerky. I'm still working on that!

It does take some practice and pre-planning no doubt.  m
