Then sail down the mountain into Bar Harbor for a bucket of steamed  clams, a lobster, oysters, some Downeast native blueberry pie.

Kennebunkport ME is one of many coastal places to return to like Bar Harbor through your life and in different seasons for an entirely different experience.

Oceanview rooms were booked for July in OGQ, so we went North.  We absolutely LOVE it there, stayed there last year for a long weekend.  It feels like home to me.

I visited it often and loved it, including Bar Harbor, where many, many years ago I went on a Whale Watch with my son. It was amazing. I lived and worked in Maine for five years at a Summer Camp and my children were Campers who grew up to return to Maine (for 8 and 10 years without me) long afterwards in leadership roles as Camp Counselors teaching children to climb mountains, take trips, wind sail, etc. Every weekend, I was exploring all the wonders of Maine!

It's one state that has more than enough wonders of the world that many never knew. I'm so glad you have enjoyed it over the years and you still have places to visit. Have a wonderful time!

No flimsy movie theatre or cereal box ones for me Kat Palmiotti . Don't want eclipse the last thing I remember seeing when I go blind or damage the peepers. When totality happens I don't want to view where street light sensors come on to diminish the once in a life time event.

Have a couple spots for viewing but like where the best fishing holes are, if you blab them, hey. Where did all these people come from? Drone to fly and capture, time lapse to set up, etc.

My home town of Houlton Maine is number one best place for totality, total solar eclipse in entire state Brian England. On top of Mt Katahdin would be sweet but not open for the mile high hike April 8th, 2024.

School is canceled, businesses are all volunteering along with churches, clubs, social groups to make it fun!

I'm impressed as it was back in Summer of 1980 that I worked with them on a finishing line for their security bracelets.

I would have thought that they would have set up an of shore facility to manufacture the since so many others have.

Luckily our chief of police was trained in Old Orchard Beach and he has experience with a big swell of tourists. I think we are ready and I added it up.. own farm house with 6 bedrooms, home with 5, two lake homes with 6 bedrooms total so 17 extra "rooms" to add to the "where do I sleep in Houlton Maine over the 4 day festival."
